Dysport and BOTOX^® Cosmetic are made of botulism toxin, which temporarily disrupts nerve signals in the muscle. This injectable is not harmful when administered by a skilled medical provider. The temporary disruption makes it difficult for your muscles to contract, and thus they become more relaxed. When the masseter muscles relax, they appear slimmer than before.

Are Results Permanent?

Results from this treatment typically last 3-4 months. While they are not permanent, touch-up injections can help you maintain the effects. You may experience some bruising at the injection site, but this and other side effects usually improve after a few hours.
