How are BioTe pellets inserted?
Pellets are placed under the skin in the upper buttock/low hip area. Lidocaine numbing agent is injected under the skin to numb the area. The BioTe hormone pellet, which is just a bit larger than a grain of rice, is inserted under the skin through a small incision. Finally, a steri-strip covers and closes the incision, which will heal in a few short days.
What are hormone replacement pellets made of?
They contain estradiol and/or testosterone molecules derived from the soy or yam plant. The pure hormone is extracted so even patients with soy allergies can use these pellets.
