How Does NeoGen Skin Regeneration Work?

NeoGen skin regeneration uses Nitrogen Plasma Technology to inflict controlled damage to the skin, activating the natural healing process. To repair the damage, your body produces collagen, which tightens your skin to create a more youthful appearance. 

When the thermal plasma energy interacts with the skin, it causes an immediate contraction, producing a tightening effect that develops for up to 12 months. This energy rapidly heats the skin but is non-ablative. This means that it does not fully remove the skin’s surface like other treatments typically used for skin resurfacing.

After the body produces collagen, we make additional passes with the plasma technology. These extra passes weaken the old outer layer of skin. Over the coming days, it will flake off, revealing the rapidly regenerating, collagen-rich layer underneath

1. Application of Conductive Gel: We apply a conductive gel to deliver the plasma energy to your skin. The gel is also hydrating, allowing for faster recovery. 
2. Optional Nitrous Oxide: We offer PRO-NOX, also known as nitrous oxide gas, for interested patients. This pain-relieving gas can help some patients feel more relaxed during treatment. 
3. Use of Nitrogen Plasma Technology: We use Nitrogen Plasma Technology to encourage collagen production. During treatment, your skin’s outer layer will remain completely intact while the inner layers are broken down. Keeping the outer layer intact prevents infection and encourages faster healing.

NeoGen PSR Treatment Recovery Process

As a non-invasive treatment, NeoGen plasma skin regeneration has a fast, simple 4-day recovery process:

• Day 1: Immediately after the treatment, your skin may feel warm and appear slightly red. Your SkinMD provider will leave the conductive gel in place to enhance hydration. They will also recommend aftercare products that hydrate your skin after the conductive gel is removed.
• Days 2 and 3: You may notice small, scattered patches of redness as your skin heals. Any sun-damaged or hyperpigmented areas will begin to brighten and fade away. During this period, it is common for the skin to feel tight and dry. Use the hydration products recommended by your provider to minimize dryness. Additionally, drink plenty of water and electrolyte drinks to remain hydrated. 
• Day 4: Any small areas of patchy redness are usually healed by day four. Your skin will look smoother, more evenly toned, brighter, and more youthful. You’ll see continual improvement in the coming months.
