What is Venus Legacy?

Venus Legacy is a treatment that helps smooth out cellulite while improving the appearance of sagging skin and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It is especially effective for addressing lax skin in various treatment areas.

Venus Legacy utilizes heat to naturally boost collagen in your body, boosting collagen production for improved skin elasticity and a youthful appearance. To achieve skin tightening, Venus Legacy treatments utilize multi-polar radiofrequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields—radio frequency and pulsed electromagnetic fields—that deliver homogeneous energy under the skin’s surface, which aids in naturally increasing elastin fibers and collagen, while at the same time shrinking the volume of fat cells. This technology can target specific treatment areas for more precise results across multiple treatment areas. Am I a good candidate for Venus Legacy?

The “right” candidates are those who have stubborn, small pockets of cellulite or excess body fat that they just can’t seem to get rid of with regular exercise and following a nutritional diet. Those who are looking for a non-invasive treatment, versus elective surgery like liposuction, are also ideal candidates. Alternatively, those who are starting to lose elasticity in their skin and are showing the early signs of wrinkles and sagging may also find great results with Venus Legacy treatments.

What Are Venus Legacy Treatments Like?

Venus Legacy treatments are non-invasive and painless. Many patients compare the treatment to a hot-stone massage! Treatment time can range from approximately 15 minutes to 40 minutes, depending on the size of the area. Some patients may experience mild redness immediately following the treatment, but this typically resolves quickly.

How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Most patients may receive six to eight treatments per area; however, the number of sessions depends on each individual and the area that is being treated. Completing the recommended number of sessions is important to achieve optimal results. Your SkinMD practitioner will discuss your treatment options during your consultation and give guidance as to the approximate treatments appropriate for you to reach your personal aesthetic goals.

How Long Will Venus Legacy Results Last?

The treatments are cumulative, which means that after your final treatment, your results will continue improving for up to three to four months. Keep in mind that your body and face will continue to age, and this is why your SkinMD practitioner may recommend maintenance either once a month or every three to four months.

• Does Venus Legacy work for everyone?

  This treatment may be the ideal solution for anyone who has pockets of cellulite and/or excess body fat that they can’t seem to get rid of with diet and exercise alone. Likewise, Venus Legacy can help improve the appearance of skin that is starting to lose elasticity and is showing early signs of sagging and wrinkles. For safety reasons, anyone with the following conditions may not be able to get treatments with Venus Legacy:

  • Active inflammation and/or an infection around the treatment area
  • Current or history of cancer
  • A degenerative neurologic disease or any other disease around the treatment area that’s stimulated by heat (e.g., herpes)
  • An internal defibrillator or pacemaker
  • Metal implants (excluding dental) in or around the treatment area
  • Uncontrolled thyroid gland disorder
  • Varicose veins
  • Pregnancy or are you undergoing IVF procedures
  • Skin-related autoimmune diseases
  • Silicone implants and/or injections in the area
• Is Venus Legacy safe for all skin tones?

  Absolutely! Venus Legacy uses advanced radio frequency technology to safely and comfortably heat the tissue under the skin’s surface. Radio frequency technology has been proven to be safe and effective for all skin tones, even darker complexions.

• Is Venus Legacy Painful?

  During the treatment, the applicator will slowly get warmer until your skin reaches the needed temperature and stays within that temperature range. If it feels too hot, just let your SkinMD practitioner know, and they will lower the temperature. If during your consult you decided on the VariPulse™ feature, it will feel like a gentle suction on your skin, like a very low-power vacuum. This can also be lowered if needed—there are four levels of VariPulse™. The level of heat and suction can easily be adjusted to suit each individual, so if you are ever uncomfortable during the treatment, just say so!
